The athlete's fastest 60-yard dash time in the given event year. Measured in seconds (s)
7.60
Infield Velocity
The athlete's maximum throwing velocity from an infield position in the given event year. Measured in miles per hour (MPH).
81.0
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
Physical: 6-foot-1, 155 pounds; Lean, long build. 7.6 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Drops hands on the way back with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a downward swing path with a two handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 87 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep step while covers ground laterally. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 81 MPH. Pitching: Gormley uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B, while working through a high 3/4 slot. Upright with finish. FB: Peak velo of 76 MPH, while sitting 75-76 MPH; straight action. CB: 66-67 MPH; spots and expands.
7/13/21
Physical: Wiry, lengthy 6-foot-1, 155lb frame with projection left. 7.61 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Slightly bent, upright stance as the barrel showed some rhythm at the shoulder. Utilized a lift and replace stride, launching the hands through a quick, twitchy path into the hitting zone. Scored well in multiple Blast Motion categories with high level rotational efficiency and good hand-speed in the box. Recorded a 50% line drive rate (via Trackman) with ability to spray flush contact over the middle of the field. An adjustable lower half allowed him to match pitch-plane early with doubles power/leverage available. Worked up to a T85 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak.
Defensively: The first baseman moved laterally with active feet, bending at the waist from a moderate posture with a soft glove hand funneling into the middle of his body. Exchanged at the belt, releasing from a H ¾ slot to the target (adequate pace, 74 mph arm).
Pitching: RHP - The righty started off the left side of the rubber with momentum-gaining pace at the top of the stack; found balance and rode a straight line down the slope into footstrike; repeated well and pounded from a H ¾ slot. The FB ranged from 75-77 mph with some carry above the letters, turning to a power CB at 66-69 mph with hard depth (-7 inches of IVB).
