Physical: Compact, strong 5-foo1-0, 160lb frame with athleticism in the movements. 6.90 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance with a crouched start in the knees; utilized a fluid attack through a flat path into the hitting zone, launching with an accurate barrel from the shoulder. Good connection and adjustability at the plate allowing for consistent hard contact all over the field, mainly the LCF part for extra-bases. Worked up to a T91 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman while posting a 36% fly ball rate pointing towards loft in the approach. Carried a solid batting practice round into game action with ability to stay short and on-time vs. velocity.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured a low, traditional setup in the crouch using a soft glove hand with soft/subtle movements on the corners. Pop times ranged from 2.10-2.16 allowing the ball to absorb into the glove hand at the catch. Didn’t cheat with any pre-catch rhythm, playing accurately on throws towards the target (sometimes using the turf for good measure, 74 mph arm). Good leadership qualities behind the dish and worked hard for his pitchers in-game with blocks/early targets, etc.
6/15/20
Physical: Lean and compact 5-foot-9, 160-pound frame. 7.49 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Backward leaning, even stance with the hands starting at the shoulder displaying some rhythm. Utilizes a shoulder turn and slight move back for the load coupled with a leg-hang for the timing mechanism. The swing is short and whips through a slightly uphill barrel path. Hits into a stiff front side with sink in the lower half allowing for quality extension upon contact into a moderately high finish at the shoulder. Drove multiple balls to the LCF gap with quality bat to ball skills. Registered an 89 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: Adequate receiver with a soft glove hand at the catch point. Pop times range from 2.08-2.14 on the bag. Demonstrated quality straight line footwork while gaining ground at the catch point; showcased smooth transfers to a moderate takeaway, high ¾ arm-slot on the front side. Worked well behind the plate blocking to the glove side with recovery skills. C - 72 MPH.
2/29/20
Physical: 5-foot-9, 160-pounds. Athletic build. 7.19 runner in the 60; 4.58 home-to-1B. Offensively: RHH. Slightly open stance, bent at the knees, large leg kick Level swing, attacks the ball, gets his hands through the zone quickly. Line drive power. 80 MPH raw exit velocity. Defensively: 2.09-2.14 pop times. Elevated secondary setup: clean transfer as he gains ground towards 2B. Quick to recover on blocks; traditional short arm action with a high 3/4 arm slot. C - 70 MPH
