The athlete's fastest 60-yard dash time in the given event year. Measured in seconds (s)
7.78
Infield Velocity
The athlete's maximum throwing velocity from an infield position in the given event year. Measured in miles per hour (MPH).
75.0
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Slider
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Slider
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: Durable starter’s build at 6-foot-2, 195lbs; mound presence available.
Pitching: RHP. Begins from the left tip of the mound; slow, continuous pace that showed crossfire at foot strike and quick H ¾ slot at release. Attacked with an 81-84 mph FB to both sides, gaining awkward swings at near 2400rpms. Added quality low-70’s CB for whiffs and sweeping 70-72 mph SL on a more lateral tilt. Three pitches in the zone often.
2/12/22
Physical: 6-foot-2, 190 pounds; Full, broad shouldered build. Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a moderate stride while landing slightly closed. Long arm swing while arm stays in line with 2B; high/over the top slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 86 MPH, while sitting 85-86 MPH; life through the zone. CB: MPH;SL: 72-74 MPH; short action. CH: 69-70 MPH; fading action.
8/03/21
Physical: Proportional, athletic 6-foot-2, 190lb frame with some strength found. 7.78 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Taller, even stance with the hands starting at the shoulder at a 45. Utilized a stretched, leg-hang stride, landing at a wide attack to initiate the bat head through a flat path into the hitting zone. Maintained a sturdy, stiff front-side at impact, able to get to extension for a heavy fly ball barrage during batting practice (88% fly ball rate via Trackman). Worked up to a near 290 foot batted ball distance for moderate doubles power on occasion and could spray flush barrels from gap to gap. Recorded a T83 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak.
Defensively: The third baseman was up-tempo early, bouncing with pre-pitch rhythm and then chopping the feet before he arrived at the window. Showed off adequate posture with a soft glove hand corralling out in front; released from a H ¾ slot at 75 mph, accurately to the target.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the left side of the rubber with slower pace, finding a balanced stack position before getting compact on an explosive move down the slope. Held direction into footstrike, releasing with some intent at H ¾ slot. The FB ranged from 81-83 mph with the front-side blocking off properly, mixing a sweeping 68-70 mph CB across the plate. Later added a straight 68-70 mph CH with great command (100% zone rate).
