Physical: Durable, starter’s build at 6-foot-3, 195lbs and the stuff plays.
Pitching: RHP - Starts sideways off of the middle of the rubber with tempo in the rocker step. Finds a lower, balanced stack position and phases into the drive, showing good hip/shoulder separation at release (H ¾ slot). The right pounded the zone with low-spin/heavy action on the FB at 87-88 mph and mixed a two-plane upper-70’s SL that flashes swing and miss in-game. Keeps making strides on an 81-83 mph CH, fading more consistently to the arm-side.
6/13/21
Physical: The recent Seton Hill recruit stands strong in a 6-foot-2, 205lb frame with added feel for his body.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, shoulder-width start with the barrel idle over the shoulder to begin. Utilized a short leg hang as the hands work into a flat slot at foot strike, entering with authority into the hitting zone. Violent, whippy approach with an on-time hip turn that favored pull-side during batting practice. Stayed mostly medium/high in the posture throughout the swing, but flashed obvious/raw upper-half strength in the movements yielding a 98 mph bat-exit velocity and 60% hard hit rate via Trackman Baseball.
Pitching: RHP - The primary righty began off the left side of the rubber with an imposing presence. Short/front side rocker and a medium leg lift at the top of the stack showing hip-coil for balance; got down the mound efficiently blocking the front leg off properly at release from a high ¾ slot. Repeated well from the stretch too, with easy actions and not too much going on, smooth operator. Pounded early with the FB (85-87 mph, hard run, strikes) with above-average command of a late-breaking 75-77 mph SL off the same tunnel. Added a fading 81-83 mph CH that he threw with lots of intent; really solid third offering. Had plenty of success on the bump in HS, pitching Emmaus deep through a state playoff run. Strikeout potential and all the tools to further develop into a strong college starting pitcher.
