6/13/21

Physical: Strong, well-proportioned 6-foot, 190lb frame with connected actions. 7.44 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Balanced, wide stance with quick hands showing fast rhythm flat above the shoulder; utilized a barrel tip on time with a toe tap stride to initiate the bat head through a slightly uphill attack using a smooth/accurate barrel on pitches belt height and above. Mostly middle/pull-side approach with backspin creating consistent loft on ball flight (88 mph bat-exit / 293 foot peak batted ball). A 38% fly ball rate pointed to repeatable lift in the swing; projects as a middle of the order bat able to continue collecting RBI as a good situational hitter. Posted an impressive 70% on-plane efficiency pointing towards quality bat to ball skills offensively.

Defensively: The primary catcher featured a traditional setup in the crouch with a soft glove hand at the catch point; accurate, subtle actions on the corners and popped 2.06-2.10 using strong/replaceable feet in line towards the target. Stayed under the ball well flashing low posture in the catch-throw phase allowing for accurate 72 mph arm strength to the bag. Seasoned blocking skills showing soft walls on both sides of the plate.

2/06/21

Physical: Strong, compact 6-foot, 190-pound frame with power throughout the movements. 7.45 runner in the 60-yard dash.

Offensively: RHH - Crouched, even stance with the hands showing rhythm above the shoulder. Utilized a toe-tap stride while maintaining posture in the movements allowing for a fluid, slightly uphill barrel path to launch into the hitting zone. Generated plenty of hard, line drive contact through the pull-side evidenced by a 50% line drive rate during his round. Released the barrel with mostly upper-half rotation in the swing allowing the hands to get great extension through the hitting window. The swing played short and should work against some velocity down the line. Up to a 90 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball and flashed quality bat speed (71 mph).

Defensively: The primary backstop featured a low and narrow crouch which is great for giving signs, soft glove hand while receiving beating the ball to the spot, pop times ranged from 2.20-2.26 while getting in-line and into throwing position in a hurry. A 70 mph arm strength was accurate on the bag and was consistently giving the middle infielders a chance at the bag. Good directional blocking technique with ability to deaden a pulled fastball back over the plate.
