A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Physical: Lean and athletic, 5-foot-11, 165-pound frame with projectability and length in the actions. 7.32 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Crouched, even stance as the hands begin above the shoulder with quick rhythm in the setup, utilized a leg-hang stride with weight shift towards the front side in order to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Got long levers inside the baseball, a combination that allowed for barrel whip and natural backspin/carry to the pull-side gap. Was able to be adjustable and athletic with the lower half, sinking and exploding with intent upon footstrike. Showcased the ability to repeatedly be on time at the front of the plate and got to extension with ease staying through offspeed pitches in game with an advanced feel for the barrel. Recorded a max bat-exit velocity of 86 mph per Trackman Baseball and a top batted ball distance of 288 feet.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured lengthy, rangy movements in the middle starting from a low center of gravity, fluidity in the approach as he repeatedly played downhill with momentum through the fielding window, the hands played loose and aggressively out in front and really allowed for positive actions through the baseball while fielding off of the left side of his body. Could get around the ball hit to his backhand side with above average feel for pace on the left side; an electric high ¾ slot allowed for high level arm strength across the diamond. INF - 88 mph
