Physical: Lots of helium coming into the State Games off an impact HS season. Athletic, projectable 6-1, 170lb frame with strong hit tool/defensive abilities. 6.84 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Crouched, slightly open stance as the hands showed some rhythm at/above the shoulder to start. Utilized a stretched launch position and short lift and replace stride to initiate the bat head through an accurate, quick flat path into the hitting zone. Noticeable barrel awareness and was able to keep pitches in any quadrant on a line. Went down and handled the low pitch with impressive posture, staying over the backside at all times on tight turns. Worked through extension and found success with hard, deep contact that carried to LCF; peaked at 92 mph bat-exit velocity with a standout 79% on-plane efficiency via Blast Motion.
Defensively: The primary backstop is one of the finer defensive options still available in PA’s ‘22 class. Alternates traditional and one-knee down when receiving with clean actions/transitions in the glove work to each corner. Pop times ranged from 1.85-1.95 with an ultra-quick release and zip on the ball (79 mph arm) to the bag. Was tough to run on in-game during HS at Bonner with ability to control run-game further when blocking; moves well laterally with down chest angles.
2/27/21
Physical: 6’1 170lb C/3B ran a 7.04 laser timed 60-yard dash. Has a solid physical presence with room to improve size and strength.
Offensively: Uses a small hand pump to create timing out of an athletic stance. His leg kick allows his weight to gain ground towards the pitcher. Swing works slightly downwards to the ball and has the ability to cover different areas of the strike zone.
Defensively: Actively moves behind the plate. Receives from both a new school and old school stance. Has advanced catch and throw ability. Keeps momentum flowing throughout the catch and throw process.
8/18/20
Physical: 6-foot-1, 160 pounds; slender, athletic frame. 7.04 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Wide and slightly open stance; hands load back as body moves into load position, late toe tap stride with lower half. Stays behind the ball well with swing path stays in the zone with high on-plane efficiency. Consistent hard contact through the middle of the field; peak Trackman exit velocity of 90 MPH. Defensively: Wide, low to the ground stance; clean footwork, accurate throws to 2nd base, athletic & smothered pitches in the dirt. Clean transfer; short arm swing, standard 3/4 arm slot. 2.03-2.13 pop times. C - 77 MPH.
7/29/20
