Offensively: RHH - Strong, balanced base at an even stance and shoulder-width to start; utilized a leg lift to initiate with barrel lag through a direct, flat path into the hitting zone. Produced lots of hard contact from gap to gap with a mature approach and natural bat to ball skills. Drove the ball with leverage at the front of the plate, lifting for distance to the pull-side (extra base hits) and notched a T95 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak (via Trackman). Future middle of the order type presence with quicker hands on the inner half, able to show off a consistent two-strike approach in game action.
Defensively: The shortstop moved gracefully during defense after a hop in the “prep step.” Stayed on his toes, able to shift quickly from a low posture in either direction for range on routes. A soft glove hand worked accurately inside/outside the left foot and released at a fluid H ¾ slot (88 mph arm, plus).
Pitching: RHP - The righty started off the left side of the rubber with clean mechanics and good direction/athleticism down the slope. Separated with some length at a H ¾ slot, commanding the zone with a heavier 85-87 mph FB to the bottom of the zone. A 71-73 mph CB featured a gradual 11/5 shape, dodging barrels with late depth to the plate. Then mixed a small fading 76-77 mph CH with good subtraction off the FB. Two-way skills flashing.
Physical: Projectable, athletic 6-foot-2, 190lb frame with easy actions in all phases. 7.00 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Wide, balanced stance showing a strong base in the lower half as the hands operated with rhythm. Utilized a leg lift stride, getting to a stretched position at a wide attack allowing for a flat path to enter the hitting zone. On time rotational PWR through extension posting obvious middle of the order characteristics (83% hard hit rate, T96 mph bat-exit velocity, and 50% line drive rate via Trackman). Blocked off the front side properly, transferring the power down the chain in sequence, which led to big time juice to the pull-side when getting levered on pitches out over the plate (300+ foot batted ball distance).
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured a hop in the “prep step” flashing natural range and smooth actions in either direction. The glove hand worked low to the ground softly from down/up using quick pace to release on target from H ¾. Ability to make all the plays and offers legitimate two way abilities (89 mph arm, carry).
Pitching: RHP - Started off the far left side of the rubber with a strike throwing barrage from H ¾. Adequate pace to the delivery, moving down the mound in a connected, athletic manner getting over the front side at footstrike. Worked downhill at 86-88 mph on the FB to both sides of the plate (1986rpms, 45% zone rate) pounding the zone early/often. Mixed a gradual breaking 71-73 mph CB at an 11/5 shape with leverage/tilt out of the hand.
Physical: Long, durable 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame with advanced athleticism found in the actions. 7.23 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Slightly open, balanced stance with minimal bend in the backside of the drive leg, utilized an early leg lift stride allowing for control of a flat, leveraged bat path into the hitting zone. Stayed somewhat upright in the posture at impact, recorded a 350 foot batted ball distance when he got the hands to the front of the plate; a 64% line drive rate gave confidence that he can hit for average down the line. Got up to a 96 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball. Mostly middle of the field approach with an eye-popping power ceiling down the line (29.5 G’s of rotational acceleration).
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured a low, attacking approach at the fielding window with momentum towards the target. The glove hand worked with confidence while funneling into the belt line and working to the throwing ear. Released from a high ¾ slot with plenty of whip across the diamond (89 mph). Was able to handle the play on the run with ease creating increased angles towards the target allowing for accuracy from a lower arm slot.
Pitching: RHP - The righty started off the left side of the rubber with a pause at the side rocker, medium leg lift and good drive outward towards the plate while holding direction well. FB ranged from an 81-83 mph FB with an 80% zone rate; played extremely well with low spin and low IVB profile down in the zone. Mixed a late-biting 69 mph SL getting up to 7.3 inches of horizontal shape across the plate. Countered with a 73-75 mph CH with above-average command in the zone.
Physical: Projectable / athletic 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame with advanced feel for his body in all phases of the game. 6.94 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Tall, balanced setup with bend into the backside leg as the hands showed slight rhythm by the ear. Utilized a slow toe-tap stride for the timing mechanism in order to initiate the hands through a flat barrel path with deliberate weight shift into the front side. Threw the lower half towards impact with authority while hitting into a stiff front side, used long levers to get on plane early with lift after contact generating a 50% fly ball rate according to Trackman Baseball during his batting practice round. Showed increased feel for the pull-side and coupled high intent with high level bat to ball skills in the box. Long levers stayed inside the ball early on the bat path and worked long through extension creating natural backspin to all fields. Legitimate home run pop, peaked with a 345 foot maximum batted ball distance and 26.00 mph hand speed per Blast Motion which was more than impressive. Top bat exit velocity of 91 mph / 78 mph average.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured long, fluid actions with a prototypical shortstop build. Arrived on time to the baseball with advanced rhythm through the fielding window while getting downhill with momentum towards the target, approached the ball off of the inside of his left foot with consistency. Moved well laterally with range in either direction, above average arm strength out of a high ¾ slot with a full arm circle. INF - 87 mph
Pitching: RHP - Starts from the left side of the rubber with a side rocker step, medium leg lift and races down the mound out of the stack with directional leg drive off of a powerful backside, solid hip shoulder separation and holds direction upon footstrike the arm jolted through a quick and long, high ¾ slot with accuracy in the zone on an 83-85 mph FB with an upwards of 2023 spin per Trackman Baseball. Mixed in a sharp 65-67 mph breaker with 11/5 shape and hard slurve-like depth. Countered with a solid 69-71 mph CH with adequate sell and occasional arm side fade.
Physical: 6-foot-1, 180 pounds; tall, projectable build. 7.09 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Some bend in the knees, balanced stance with an even base, slightly open; loads into his back side with his methodical leg kick/stride. aggressive with plus hand speed, barrel is direct to the ball and flat at the point of contact; 11 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. Kunst is able to produce 23.8 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 87%. Hard contact to the pull side; average Trackman exit velocity of 82 MPH; peak exit velo was 94 MPH.
Defensively: Starts upright, uses prep hop for timing; aggressive approach, gets glove down early and plays well from the ground up, works through the baseball. sure hands, clean transfer; medium arm swing with a 3/4 arm slot.INF - 81 MPH. Pitching: Sets up slightly off to the first base side, works into a fluid, uptempo delivery, good drive off his back leg gets him extension towards the plate. Loose arm, moderate take back with a high 3/4 arm slot. FB: T 82 MPH, 79-82 MPH. Shows some ride through the top of the zone. CB: 67 MPH. 11-5 shape. Shows plenty of arm side fade.
Demonstrated feel a projectable 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame with long athletic movements and wiry strength in his actions. The right-handed hitter begins with a bent, open stance utilizing a knee-knock stride to initiate his swing through a raw, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Hands were occasionally long with a twitchy lower half drive generating hip-shoulder separation and an 86 mph bat-exit velocity during batting practice. Ran a 6.94 60-yard dash showcasing the athleticism present in his long strides. Displayed advanced footwork creating consistently advantageous hops to both sides of the field with a quick first step and low center of gravity. A soft glove hand played smooth through the ball out in front and repeatable, fluid transfers allowed for an accurate 81 mph arm-strength across the diamond out of a high ¾ arm-slot. Flashed range to both sides with long, easy movements creating momentum towards the target on forehands and backhands. Made plays on the run with relative ease with ability to throw from multiple arm angles. The right-handed pitcher sat 80-82 mph out of a long, high ¾ arm-slot with natural cut and repeatability. Mixed in a 62-63 mph curveball with 11/5 shape and depth down in the zone. Countered with a 69-70 mph changeup featuring flat action in the zone.
6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a leg hang stride and an aggressive weight shift to his front foot. Showcased a feel for the barrel and hands work well through contact. Registered a bat exit velocity of 83 mph and ran a 7.06 60-yard dash. Long arm throwing motion will likely mean a move to the corner infield in the future, but 80 mph arm strength will definitely play on the left side of the diamond. The two-way prospect also sat 78-83 on the mound from a high 3/4 arm slot. Displayed a loose arm action with repeatable mechanics. Curveball at 63-67 showed 11/5 rotation and changeup with small arm-side run sat 68-72.
