Barder has a lanky-athletic build at 6-foot 150-pounds. Recorded an exit velocity of 83 MPH and ran a 7.61 60 yard dash. Offensively – starts in a tall, neutral stance with hands just above back shoulder. Uses a small foot lift and stride to start swing. Hands load up and back and bat wraps slightly behind head. Creates extension out in front of body to produce line drive pop. Balanced finish with some lift. Defensively – took reps from the outfield. Recorded 79 MPH with throws from right field. Attacks ball well and keeps low to the ground into a crow hop. Throws from a high-3/4 slot with some arm side run. On the mound, fastball topped at 80 MPH and sat mostly 79-80 in a bullpen setting. Flashed a curveball with 1/7 spin at 67-68 and a changeup with fade at 76-77. Some tempo to his delivery at the start. Tall, athletic balance point with a slight pause at the top. Uphill shoulders as he descends down the mound. Foot lands straight to homeplate, spins off the third base side of rubber. High-3/4 slot with a long, loose arm.
