Physical: Strong, athletic 5-foot-10, 170lb frame with repeatable actions.
Pitching: LHP. The southpaw begins off the middle of the rubber, using a quickened pace to get on top of the hitter with a 78-80 mph FB at 2237rpms. Added sweeping 69-71 mph CB in the zone and small-fading 68-70 mph CH that showed well when leveraged. Strike thrower that attacked in any count out of a shorter H ¾ arm-slot.
2/27/22
Physical: Projectable, athletic 5-foot-10, 170lb frame. 7.11 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Open, narrow stance with the hands operating quickly in rhythm to start. Utilized a deliberate leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a flat, whippy path towards an on-plane two-handed finish. Sometimes the hands dipped below the ball, but showed good control overall, posting a middle of the field approach and T87 mph bat-exit velocity. A 50% line drive rate demonstrates ability to hit for some average down the road.
Defensively: The outfielder tracked the ball well with a confident first step and clean, rounded angles to the ball. Fielded off his right foot and squared the shoulders before releasing with momentum from a H ¾ slot (78 mph arm, accurate). Possible corner trajectory.
Pitching: LHP - Fast pace; balanced stack position with hip-coil present. Stayed over the mound until driving through the pitch from a H ¾ slot. The FB clipped the zone at 77-79 mph, mostly straight to arm-side and mixed a commanded 65-67 mph SL with short action. An upper-60’s CH has shown flashes, too, fading hard off the plate to RHH.
2/27/21
Physical: 5’10 160lb OF/LHP ran a 7.32 laser time 60-yard dash. Still a young build with room to develop over time.
Offensively: Starts the hands close to his right ear as he has a sharp move during his load where the barrel works forward just before firing through the ball. Finds a way to whip the barrel and create some positive movements into the hitting zone.
Defensively: The left handed thrower has a pretty standard approach in the outfield. He catches the ball off of his front glove side foot and starts a crow hop to generate power to the plate.
Pitching: Has a slow methodical windup, but right after the leg kick he puts it in gear. Releases from a high OTT arm slot. Flashed your traditional FB, CV, & CH.
9/26/20
Physical: 5-foot-10, 150 pounds; athletic build with room to grow. 7.32 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Upright, open stance with active hands; bat waggle with a stride out square. Aggressive with quick hands, barrel clears the zone and finishes uphill. Hard line drives to the pull side; peak Trackman exit velocity of 81 MPH. Defensively: Low, wide base; Gets low on approach, fields the ball in front of glove foot. Smooth hands, clean transfer; Long arm swing with a high 3/4 arm slot. OF - 74 MPH.
2/23/19
5-foot-7, 130-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance utilizing a low hands load with a heel raise to initiate his swing. Registered a bat-exit-velocity of 70 mph. Used adequate footwork in the outfield to record throws of 62 mph from his position. Ran a 7.66 60-yard dash. Left-handed pitcher used a repeatable delivery to pound the zone with 65-66 mph fastballs. Sauer displayed a 56-59 mph curveball that featured 1/7 tilt. Changeups were flat at 59-61 mph.
