Physical: Projectable, athletic 6-foot-2, 180lb frame. 7.03 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, even stance just outside shoulder-width. Utilized a short leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a flat, sequenced path towards an on-plane two-handed finish. Sprayed hard middle contact during the round with natural body control in the box. Recorded a T93 mph exit velocity while maintaining a line-drive approach (78% sweet spot) during the round. Continues making jumps.
Defensively: The outfielder demonstrated an active lower half, gaining ground on the ball with downward chest angles at the fielding window. Did not throw on this date, but first-step and early reads flashed.
2/12/22
Physical: 6-foot-2, 175 pounds; Lean, athletic build. 7 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet shoulder width apart; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a flat swing path with a finish around the back. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep step while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands are out in front with a seamless transfer. Long arm swing from a high 3/4 arm slot. INF - 83 MPH. OF - 85 MPH. Upright start with a good approach to the ball, while fielding on the glove side foot. Long arm action paried with a high 3/4 slot Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with shoulders above the hips. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while showing effortless and fluid actions; high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. 6/15/21
Physical: Lean, high-waisted 6-foot-1, 160lb frame with long levers in the build. 7.07 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, open stance with a loose hand operation starting at a flat position. Utilized a lift and replace stride, stretching outward towards the pitcher at footstrike and launched through a flat, connected path giving way to a mostly line drive operation during batting practice (43% LD rate via Trackman). Added a T90 mph bat-exit velocity consistently impacting the ball at the front of the plate allowing for occasional jump to the LF side of the field. Adjustable athlete with ability to grind at-bats in game action with a quick trigger.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured good routes to the baseball, getting around with bananas in either direction, playing downhill at the window. Fielded softly at a low posture with a clean exchange to the waist; accurate, high ¾ slot with ability to manipulate on the run (T75 mph arm strength). Moved to the outfield showing off positional flexibility and corralled easily off the left side. Presented the glove-hand early and kept the feet moving fluidly through the baseball creating momentum to the plate T81 mph on throws.
2/07/21
Physical: Long and lean 6-foot-1, 158-pound frame with tons of projection in the build. 7.31 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Tall, open setup with the barrel pointed upright with slight rhythm pre-swing. Utilized a leg hang stride in order to initiate the hands through a flat path into the hitting zone. Showed off weight shift and occasional drift towards the front side creating leverage at the front of the plate; recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 87 mph per Trackman Baseball (81 mph average) with a standout 46% line drive rate during his round. Gap to gap approach with ability to stay inside the baseball at will if need be; will continue seeing improvements with additional strength.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured a medium center of gravity in the posture while beating the ball to the spot regularly, average pace and developing footwork giving way to long actions in the approach, accurate 74 mph arm strength across the diamond.
Pitching: RHP - Standard pace to the delivery with comfortability in the leg lift at waist height in the stack, good lean down the mound with ability to extend out in front out of a high ¾ slot. FB ranged from 77-79 mph posting elite induced vertical break numbers (24.1 max, 22.1 average) allowing for easy swing and misses above the belt. The SL (67-68 mph) appeared to have somewhat gyro spin while needing to show harder bite across the plate, countered with an adequate 73-74 mph CH with some arm fade.
