1/6/18 Defensively, Barca demonstrates understanding of playing through the baseball and gaining ground on throws. There is tendency to work from top down and let ball get deep. Transfer and throwing motion are long. Arm strength must progress in accordance with strength gains to remain on left side of infield.

Offensivey, swing is initiated from narrow, neutral set up with stride to neutral. Back foot does get outside of back knee in load. Weight shift is somewhat passive with reaching of stride leg. There is length to swing. Separation is limited by weight shift and limited work away from hands. There is feel for barrel.

On the mound working out of high 3/4 arm slot, FB sat 65-66 with subtle arm side run. CB at 56 mph showed 11-5 rolling action and remains work in progress. CH lacked separation at 63-66 but was commanded with good arm side down and away movement. Delivery is balanced and repeatable with good rhythm.
