Physical: Strong, durable 6-foot-3, 225-pound frame with power in the build.
Pitching: RHP - Comes from a family lineage of high class pitchers following in the footsteps of his brothers; advanced feel on the bump. Started from the left side of the rubber working from the stretch-only using a quick leg-lift below the waist and high initial shoulder direction pointing upwards towards the plate. Used a “drop and drive” technique to displace it while getting out towards the target and released through a high ¾ slot. The FB played heavily with low spin and deception (1888 average spin) at the bottom of the zone from 81-83 mph. Showed command towards either side of the plate and then dropped in a tight 63 mph breaker flashing quality depth (-11.2 inches of IVB) as the out pitch. Got around a 66-68 mph SL with 5+ inches of HM and increased command in the zone (100% zone rate). Mixed a gross 68-70 mph splitter working up to 11 inches of HM to the arm side coupled with tumbling action at the plate, which could have swing and miss implications down the road.
Pitching: Glove side setup, taps in back leg as he drives down the mound & finishes over a strong front side; hands start high & drop on separation, strides to the plate with an open foot strike. Long arm action that is straight down out of glove up to high 3/4 arm slot. FB: T 84 MPH, 80-82 MPH. Gets some carry on FB coming out of higher arm slot. SL: 75 MPH. Has some horizontal break with some good slider velocity. CH: 71-72 MPH. Has some late fading action. SPL: 69-72 MPH. Has downward tumbling action .
