Physical: Well proportioned, muscular 6-foot, 180lb frame with some projection. 7.32 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Upright, even stance with the hands operating using some rhythm in a circle. Utilized a deliberate leg hang stride, getting down on time and initiating through a short, efficient, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Able to separate well with good lower half actions in the swing, staying behind the ball and hitting into a stiff/adjustable front side at the front of the plate. Posted a T90 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman at a 44% line drive / 44% fly ball rate split allowing for consistent carry to the LCF side of the field during his batting practice round. Notched a near 300 foot batted ball distance alluding to current doubles PWR and a middle of the order role down the road.
Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated clean actions during defensive evals with feel for his body in space. Got the foot in the ground and made decisions early with good reads off the bat, putting himself in advantageous positions with the feet. Fielded cleanly off the middle/left side of his body, releasing from H ¾ with accuracy to the target (85 mph, corner OF projection moving forward).
7/15/20
Physical: Lean, uber athletic 6-foot, 165-pound frame with advanced feel for his body. 7.21 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Impressive hitter with maturity in the box, begins from a balanced, wide stance with bend in the knees as the hands work high above the shoulder with rhythm. Utilized a lift and replace stride while holding a slight coil into the backside on the move creating stretch in the body, initiated the hands through a whippy, slightly uphill path with lift after contact. Showcased the ability to crush the ball to the pull-side when contacting out in front of the plate, kept long levers inside the baseball dealing plenty of damage … The lower half was extremely efficient and showed athleticism throughout allowing the hands to match the plane of the pitch early and often. Recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 89 mph according to Trackman Baseball while peppering the LCF gap / generated a max batted ball distance of 341 feet.
Defensively: The primary outfielder demonstrated active footwork with lengthy strides, got downhill through the baseball with regularity. Showed natural instincts with a quick first step and decisiveness in the routes, fielded off of the left side on the approach. Accurate, high ¾ arm-slot with a moderate arm circle. OF - 76 mph
Pitching: RHP - Stretch only from the middle of the rubber, medium leg lift with hip coil at the top of the stack, direction towards the plate when landing, gets over the front side through a high ¾ slot. FB played from 71-75 with a top spin of 1945 per Trackman Baseball. Mixed in a 63-65 mph CB showing 11/5 shape and short depth.
10/05/19
