Physical: Thick 5-foot-10, 220lb frame with proportioned strength in the lower half. 7.67 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - The righty initiated from a slightly bent, narrow stance as the hands operated flat above the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride and barrel tip, launching through a flat path with quick rotational turns into the hitting zone. Generated a mostly pull-side approach during batting practice while handling pitches on the inner half; hit into a stiff front side yielding juice and a 94 mph peak bat-exit velocity via Trackman Baseball. Posted an impressive 57% line drive rate and a 335 foot batted ball distance over the course of his round. A 75 mph bat-speed will most certainly play vs. velocity.
Defensively: The primary first baseman showcased adequate footwork, arriving on time with a solid base at the fielding window; lets the hands play accurately out in front, with funnel inward from the middle of his body. Accurate ¾ slot and 73 mph arm strength across the diamond.
2/27/21
Physical: 5’10 220lb 3B/C ran a 7.68 laser timed 60-yard dash. Thick frame moves well and has the ability to create power in his game.
Offensively: Starts in a slightly opened stance, before starting his leg kick and gets the front foot squared up. Stays on his backside throughout the swing and allows his body weight to turn quickly as the barrel follows through the hitting zone.
Defensively: Show good feel for 3B as he plays with a low center of gravity. Glove works well to the ball and uses a ¾ arm slot to throw balls across the diamond. Solid defender.
