Physical: 6-foot-2, 180 pounds; prototypical starters build, long-limbed with plenty of room to fill out. Pitching: Sets up wide with one foot on each side of the rubber with his glove chest high, brings hands down to the belt then back to chest height before separating at the belt, gets downhill with good extension. Long, quick arm swing with a 3/4 slot. FB: T 88 MPH, 83-86 MPH. Ball gets on the hitter quickly with some natural arm side movement. CB: 67-69 MPH. Small moving, 1-7 breaker, changes eye level well. CH: 75-77 MPH. Throws it out of the same slot as the fastball with a 6-9 mph difference. OTHER: Split 70 MPH.
10/26/19
6-foot-2, 160-pound junior made the biggest impression of the day sitting 86-87 from a 3/4 arm slot with a high leg kick and a long, loose delivery with a quick arm. Miner has made significant strides since we last saw him sitting 76-80 during three innings of action at the Western PA Top Prospect Games in early June. Slider at 72-74 is an above average pitch with late, hard break and changeup is commanded with confidence at 78-79 with arm-side run and sink. With plenty of room to add strength to his long, lean frame, Miner will be a high follow moving forward in this class. The left-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing from a high hands load with a short leg-hang stride. Showcased some length in his swing with a flat barrel path and a feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 88 mph and ran a 6.88 60-yard dash. Moves well in the outfield and flashed accurate 87 mph arm strength.
6/11/19
6-foot-2, 160-pound two-way prospect sat 76-80 out of a 3/4 arm slot during three scoreless innings of work in game action. Allowed three hits while striking out two. Also commanded a curveball with 1/7 rotation at 61-63 and a changeup with good sell at 69-70. The left-handed hitter starts from a square, crouched stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed a flat barrel path with a line drive approach and registered an 85 mph bat exit velocity. Went 3-for-9 in game action over two days and ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Showcased accurate 85 mph arm strength from the outfield during defensive evaluations.

Defensively, tends to catch ball flat-footed. MIner would benefit from being more consistent in getting behind and working through the ball in the air. He attacks and plays through the ball on the ground with proper technique. Arm strength of 72 MPH was registered on throws from the outfield.
5-foot-10, 135-pound left-handed hitter initiates swing from open set up with knee to knee leg kick and stride staying slightly open. Weight shift, hip turn and separation are solid. There is rhythm to swing while achieving leverage through routinely staying behind the ball. There is some difficulty in covering away. Hand and bat speed are developing in young player. Barrel feel was evident in squaring multiple balls during round of BP. A bat exit velocity of 77 MPH as recorded.
On the mound, left-hander works out of a mid 3/4 arm slot with loose arm action. Shows ability to repeat delivery. Miner strides closed creating crossfire action. Glove hand stays low reducing deception and allowing hitter to see ball early. FB sat 70 MPH with sink and run. CB at 58-62 showed 1-7 shape and rolling action. CH was thrown with reasonable sell and inconsistent command and movement.
