Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Physical: Lean, athletic 6-foot, 170lb frame with feel for his body in space; 6.78 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Begins from a wide, slightly bent/even stance as the hands showed flat at the shoulder. Utilized a barrel-tip paired up with a stretched, leg lift in order to land at a low-postured attack; initiated the hands through a flat path with plenty of whip/length through extension. Had a loud batting practice round while flashing twitch on the inner half of the plate; advanced offensive skill-set notching a 67% hard hit rate (batted balls over 90 mph) and peaked at a 97 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman Baseball. Huge rotational acceleration numbers (25+ G’s of force per Blast Motion) and consistent, hard contact through the LCF gap. Projects to handle an impact role anywhere from 1-3 in the order.
Defensively: The primary outfielder displayed above-average pace from his position with down chest angles at the fielding window, accurate/soft glove hand off the left hand yielding clean exchanges and a quick release through a moderate-lengthed, high ¾ slot (81 mph arm). Can handle the CF position moving forward with natural athleticism. Showed well in the middle infield too with shifty, rangy actions and advanced feel to his glove hand side. Low posture in the movements and stayed repeatable on plays on the run. Positional flexibility evident with an 81 mph arm across the diamond when he needed it.
2/06/21
Physical: Athletic 6-foot, 170-pound frame with feel for his body and additional room to add strength. 7.04 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance with a traditional approach at the plate. Hands showed slight rhythm above the shoulder and entered the hitting zone slightly long through a flat path. Notched impressive bat speed / rotational power numbers (72.5 mph / 25.9 G’s) pointing towards future power projection and a 54% fly ball rate played admirably into that. Peppered the pull-side gap with hard contact while demonstrating feel for the barrel offensively. A 91 mph bat-exit velocity / 83 mph average showed off above-average consistency during batting practice.
Defensively: The primary outfielder tracked the ball well getting the chest downhill early in the routes, could go and get it in any direction with a quick first step, and got the momentum going over the toes. Fielded off of the left foot with easy transfers and an accurate, high ¾ slot on the release. OF - 81 mph … The shortstop flashed moderately soft hands that gave into the body at the fielding window accompanied by feel for pace across the diamond. A medium-low center of gravity helped throws carry some across the diamond (79 mph).
