Solid build with athletic features. Steady movement towards the plate with simple movements. Balanced during windup with steady leg lift and some leg drive on the backside. Improved arm strength and down action will help with ability to deceive hitters. Needs to work more over his front side to get FB and off-speed down in the zone. Has some armside movement with a high 3/4 arm slot.

Desiderio: Pitching-fastball ranging from 79-80-MPH, an improvement in velocity from February with a curveball sitting around 67-MPH.

Pride Workout (February 10, 2018)

Desiderio is a right handed pitcher and shortstop. 2019 grad with a tall, thick frame. He ran a 7.31 60 and 4.65 home-to-1B. Offensively- Starts tall with the front foot slightly open. Hands up near ear and a slight bat wrap around the head. Brings front leg towards pitcher for timing. Quick hands through the zone, barrels up balls and uses lower half well. High one handed finish with a 85 MPH exit velocity. Pitching- Starts on the first base side of the rubber. Slight side step, brings knee past belt and hands near head. Drives down the mound well. Front side opens up, could be fixed with more glove side pull. Fastball has good arm side run at 76-77 MPH. Keeps fastball low and spots up well. Hard slider breaks with late action; 68-71 MPH and compliments fastball well. Changeup thrown with same intent as fastball with good late drop at 69-70 MPH.
