Physical: Lean and athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame with room to fill out as he matures. 7.34 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Crouched open setup with the hands starting at the shoulder. Utilized a leg kick with a barrel tilt in the load to initiate his swing. Showcased feel for the barrel while spraying line drives to all fields. Strong top hand works well to the point of contact though a flat barrel path. Hit into a stiff front side and registered a 79 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The middle infielder is a solid defender with a low center of gravity and a quick first step to either side. Demonstrated a soft glove hand that played out in front allowing for smooth transfers and a sub 4.20 pace from the left side. Stood out defensively in game action with quick feet and an understanding of timing on routes. Made the play on the run with a feel for timing and ability to throw from multiple arm angles; primarily through from a high ¾ slot with a moderate takeaway. Projects the best at 2B at the moment. SS - 74 mph
2/23/20
Demonstrated quality feel for a long and lean 5-foot-10, 160-pound frame with present athleticism in his actions and room to add strength as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins with a crouched, even stance utilizing a leg-lift to initiate his swing. Generated a short stroke with feel for his hands through a flat path yielding a line-drive approach during batting practice. Sprayed the ball in the middle of the field while showing off a fluid lower half and hitting into a soft front side. Recorded a 73 mph bat-exit velocity and ran a 6.99 60-yard dash with a quick first step. The primary shortstop displayed solid footwork arriving to the ball on time with regularity and playing through it with aggression. Low center of gravity created range to both sides and fluid transfers set up accurate 77 mph arm-strength across the diamond out of a repeatable, high ¾ arm-slot.
9/19/18
Defensively as middle infielder hands are adequate. There is tendency to work top down and play the ball deep. Feet work well in gaining ground while following throws. Arm strength of 71 mph was registered on throws across the diamond.
Offensively, 5-foot-9 165 right-handed hitter initiates swing from open setup with leg hang and stride to neutral. Separation is reduced by early hand leak.. Weight shift and hip turn are adequate. Bat is on plane early with hands working directly to the baseball. Balance and rhythm are present. A bat exit velocity of 69 mph was registered.
