6/15/21
Physical: Projectable, athletic 6-foot-4, 175lb frame with lots of length on the bump and room to add strength.
Pitching: RHP - Started wide off the middle/left side of the rubber; short side rocker step into a quick paced stack position. Full/clean arm swing releasing from a smooth high ¾ slot with some separation at footstrike. Pounded the strike zone operating from 80-83 mph on the FB (12.6 inches of HM on average) and added a sharp, downer 72-74 mph CB (-8 inches of IVB via Trackman). Showed confidence in a trusted third offering; a 71-73 mph CH flashing fade and ability to throw for strikes in any count. Will be an interesting follow as the velocity increases with early signs throughout crisp movements.
2/06/21
Physical: Long and lean; projectable 6-foot-3, 170-pound frame flashing athleticism throughout the movements. Pitching: RHP - Moderate pace in the delivery utilizing a side-rocker step into a medium-high leg lift at the stack. Worked downhill with good timing in the arm-swing allowing for smooth mechanics and command of an 82-84 mph FB to both sides of the plate. Showed some ability to work the heater in on RHH hands (16.2 inches HM max / 13.8 average) while spinning a tight, downer breaking ball (-9.1 inches of IVB) as the out pitch. Displayed good arm action on a 68-71 mph CH creating deception at the plate evidenced by similar release heights on all three pitches (ranging from 4.93 to 4.99 feet). Legitimate strikeout potential down the line.
