Physical: The recent Slippery Rock commit stands a strong, athletic 6-foot, 185lb frame. 6.91 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Advanced, upright operation as the hands showed loosely at the shoulder to start. Utilized a quick leg lift stride, initiating the bat head through a flat, connected path into the hitting zone. A barrel finder that continuously puts up solid at-bats, the lefty produced an easy middle of the order type approach with big rotational scores and ready hand-speed at the plate. Could jump the yard to pull, working up to a T92 mph bat-exit velocity (via Trackman). Notched a 300+ foot batted ball distance and sprayed it backside from time to time for power as well.
Defensively: The primary outfielder moved around with some confidence out of a medium posture (bent at the waist). Stayed behind the ball and fielded calmly off the left side, gathering and shuffling towards the target, on-time with a H ¾ release (T84 mph arm, carry, corner OF projection).
6/13/21
Physical: Strong, athletic 6-foot, 185lb frame with natural feel for the game in all phases, prototypical “gamer type” player. 6.95 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Mature hit tool that works consistently on time, starts from a loose, balanced setup at a slightly open position. Utilized late stretch allowing for whippy rhythm in the hands/lag through impact while initiating through a flat path into the hitting zone. Stayed in the legs well with natural energy transfer into the baseball, creating big time juice to the RCF gap during batting practice. Recorded a 43% line drive rate pointing towards the ability to hit for average and notched a 91 mph bat-exit velocity via Trackman Baseball. Quick hands showed on tight turns inner-half (24+ mph hand speed) and could command all parts of the plate for extra-base hits.
Defensively: The primary outfielder flashed attacking posture with the chest downhill early in routes, fielded softly off the left foot and funneled inward with adequate pace. Trusted defender at a corner outfield position, working to a quick, high ¾ slot on the front side (79 mph arm, accuracy on the plate).
