Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Dynamic mover in an athletic, lean 5-foot-11, 157lb frame.
Pitching: RHP - Quick pace starting from the middle of the rubber, utilizing an efficient delivery to create natural velocity in a smaller stature. Saw a velo increase, holding 86-88 mph with the usual high-spin rates (2277 rpms) into the zone. Mixed a sharp, commanded 70-72 mph CB on an 11/5 tilt, flashing a two-plane look at times and countered with a hard-biting 72-74 mph SL on the horizontal axis (2800+ rpms). Faded a low-80’s CH back to the arm-side; lightning-fast arm from H ¾ slot that commanded two of the four pitches.
6/15/21
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-10, 145lb frame with room to keep adding strength. Two-way skills and 7.20 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even stance at shoulder-with with some rhythm pre-swing at the shoulder. Utilized a barrel tip on time with a lift and replace stride, launching through a flat path into the hitting zone. Loose, accurate operation finding the sweet spot on a line producing hard contact sprayed over the middle of the field (20% line drive rate / 60% fly ball rate via Trackman). Occasional loft, hitting behind the baseball into a stiff front side and posted a T84 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak. Singles power at the moment and minimal swing/miss in game action.
Defensively: The shortstop featured smooth footwork, arriving on time from right to left working down through the baseball. Funneled softly/calmly in off the middle-left side of his body, gaining pace on the exchange through H ¾ slot (83 mph arm per Trackman). Able to handle rangy plays in either direction, adding good balance at the release.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle of the rubber operating at a torrid pace on the bump; balanced leg lift and created separation down the slope showing athleticism into footstrike. Landed even and got over the front side at H ¾, pounding the zone with some carry at 82-83, T85 mph. Mixed a tightly spun 70-72 mph CB (T2651rpms) for strikes flashing two-plane 11/5 shape and strikeout capabilities.
2/14/21
Physically: 5’10 145 lb RHP/SS ran a 7.46 laser timed 60-yard dash. Thin frame has room to add size and strength.
Offensively: Starts in an average stance just wider than shoulder width. He has some barrel movement to generate some momentum into his swing. Very controlled movements throughout the swing.
Defensively: Fluid athletic movements as he approaches the ball. Uses a low center of gravity, a flat back, and soft hands to funnel the ball while keeping momentum flowing. Arm works quick and front multiple arm slots.
Pitching: Quick up tempo windup gets his body moving at a good pace. Has an aggressive legs lift that propels him into the pitch. Arm works quick and easy displaying 3 pitches out of the same window (FB-CV-CH)
