A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: Thick, durable 6-foot-1, 200lb frame with a high waist.
Pitching: LHP. The southpaw begins off the far right side of the rubber; deep side-rocker step, swinging up towards the stack while he holds the hip-hinge, creating some separation at release from a ¾ slot. An 80-83 mph FB (2091) landed for strikes and showed hard fade in on LHH, up to 18 inches. Mixed a sweeping low-70’s breaking ball across the plate, adding a 74-76 mph CH with killed spin.
6/12/22
Physical: Compact, durable 6-foot-1, 200lb frame. 8.12 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH. Taller, open stance that hugs the backside, as the hands operate in rhythm by the ear. Utilized a knee knock stride to initiate the swing through a slightly uphill, lengthy path into the hitting zone. Posted a T86 mph bat-exit velocity during his round, wrapping a couple swings for distance over the 300 foot mark (309 best). High intent lower half action in the box.
Defensively: The outfielder demonstrated moderate pace and played behind the baseball. Fielded off his right foot and gathered the frame before releasing from a loose H ¾ slot to the target (80 mph).
Pitching: LHP. The southpaw features a big drop step before swinging leg up to a higher position and getting over the front side at release. Efficient delivery that works downward into the zone, up to 84 mph on the FB. Really spun the CB at 2677rpms, gaining swing miss when challenging (9 inches HM average). Faded a good CH back the other way with 16 inches of movement.

Offensively: LHH - Slightly open, wider stance with a high back-elbowed start. Utilized quick rhythm in the hands and a fast lift and replace stride to initiate the swing through a flat path with lots of torque involved. Generated some whip through impact towards a high two-handed finish, promoting a lofty approach and top exit velocity of 84 mph.
Defensively: The primary outfielder displayed corner projection down the road with a lower base and on-time first step downhill through the baseball. Fielded accurately off his right foot, using an adequate exchange and length on the takeaway to record a 76 mph arm-strength from his position.
Pitching: LHP - The southpaw began off the middle of the rubber with a slow-tempoed delivery. Paused at times in the side rocker, finding his footing before coming to an even stack position at the waist. Held good direction down the slope and was able to repeat, allowing for the FB to spot up arm-side at 79-81 mph. Mixed a plus 66-69 mph breaker on a 1/7 tilt with two-plane shape and up to 2746rpms. Still working to get additional fade on the CH, which worked at 1944rpms and sat in the low 70’s.

Stays behind the baseball well which promotes a high on plane efficiency at 83% per blast motion. Enters the hitting zone early. Top exit velo of 80MPH.

Pitching: Begins on the 3B side of the rubber. Rocker step works into a leg lift to chest. Glove stays high at chin height throughout the windup. On glove break arm slowly stabs down, goes through the arm circle and releases from a high 3/4 arm slot. Low effort delivery. FB sat 73-76MPH. Paired with a CB and CH.
1/14/17 Young, developing OF would benefit from attacking and playing through ball on ground while following throws.
Offensively, initiates swing from neutral set up utilizing a leg kick bringing front foot to back knee. Hands stay low in load creating slightly uphill swing path. There is solid weight shift, hip turn and leverage at contact.
On the mound, Bolla works out of mid 3/4 arm slot with FB sitting 60-62 mph and demonstrating some arm side run. CB sitting 52-54 mph displayed 1-7 shape with rolling action. CH continues to be work in progress with tendency to slow arm and get around the pitch. Mechanically, there is early transfer of weight. Benefit would be gained from staying over back side longer.
