The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Long, projectable 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. Feel for the strike zone.
Pitching: RHP. Slower, momentum-building pace that rides the hip-hinge down the slope. Threw the FB with confidence at 80-81MPH from H ¾, short ASR, mixing a commanded U60’s CB (2250rpms) and faded 72-74MPH CH. Both offspeed have a chance to be weapons.
2/19/22
Physical: 6-foot-0, 170 pounds; Lean, broad shouldered build. 7.21 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet shoulder width apart; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an average effort from the legs. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a two handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 85 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; walks into ready position while displaying fluid actions to the baseball. Hands work through the ball with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 79 MPH. Pitching: Uses an arm side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a long stride while landing slightly closed. Moderate arm swing while showing some scap load; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 81 MPH, while sitting 78-80 MPH; arm side run. CB: 63-64 MPH; lands for strikes. CH: 70-72 MPH; fading action.
10/30/21
Physical: Lean, lengthy 6-foot, 170lb frame with leverage. 7.28 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Crouched, slightly open stance as the hands operated with flat rhythm on the shoulder. Utilized a lift and replace stride outward, initiating the swing through a flat, direct path towards a high two-handed finish. Recorded a strong top hand at the plate en route to a 27% line drive rate (via Trackman) and added a 267 foot distance at his peak (doubles power). Featured solid bat to ball skills with good success when getting extended at the front of the plate (T87 mph bat-exit velocity).
Defensively: The third baseman displayed adequate movements at the hot corner with ability to round off routes to either side. Set up on time from a wider base, bending at the waist, and released from a H ¾ slot (full arm circle, 79 mph arm, accurate).
Pitching: RHP - Set up off the middle of the rubber (wide start) using slight hip coil at the stack position. Created some separation at hand-break, following the lower half down the slope into footstrike. The FB landed from 78-80 mph at T2131rpms, commanded to both sides. Mixed a sharp-biting 60-61 mph CB with lateral sweep across the zone and faded a 66-69 mph CH to the arm-side with extension.
8/19/20
Physical: 5-foot-11, 150 pounds; wiry frame, slender. 7.35 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Open front side, narrow feet while standing tall; strides out and really sinks into lower half, hands shoot backwards on load. stays behind the ball well, getting lower half very involved with an uphill swing path due to his hands creeping lower in the loading process, good barrel speed. Lifted the ball well to pull side while also staying on the outer half pitch and driving it the other way; peak Trackman exit velocity of 83 MPH. Defensively: Wide footed with athletic bend in the knees, slight bend at the belt; moved well laterally, comfortable on his feet. Soft hands, funneling more vertically to his chest; long arm swing with a slight stab at the back of his motion. INF - 68 MPH.
