Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.
Physical: 5-8, 150 pounds; Average, slender build. 7.4 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a slight leg-kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a short swing path with a a finish around the back. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 91 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep step while utilizing a quick first step. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 82 MPH.
6/14/22
Physical: Compact, athletic 5-foot-7, 145lb frame. 7.41 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Open, slightly crouched stance, as the barrel rested on the shoulder to begin. Utilized a leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a whippy, upper-half driven attack on a flat path into the hitting zone. Recorded a T90 mph exit velocity (83 mph AVG) and was a model of consistency during the round. Lived on the barrel with gap-to-gap presence up to 272 feet, line-drives mostly, more to come.
Defensively: The middle infielder demonstrated a quick internal clock, able to get rid of the ball immediately from a strong base with fluid transfers. Flashed simple glove-actions that pushed/pulled depending on hop; 80 mph arm-strength from H ¾.
Pitching: RHP. Begins from the middle of the rubber; slower-pace in the delivery, moving fast into footstrike out in front. Found the zone from 76-80 on the FB with short arm-side life and mixed a sweeping 66-68 mph CB across the plate.
2/12/22
Physical: Compact, proportional 5-foot-7, 145-pound frame with feel for the game. 7.51 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Athletic stance with a slight bend in the knees and rhythmic hands. Utilized a barrel-tip off of the shoulder timed up with a simple leg-lift stride to initiate the swing. A flat rotational path created high contact traits during batting practice and a middle of the field approach. Recorded a 70% sweet spot rate and 88 mph bat-exit velocity suggesting quality barrel awareness.
Defensively: The primary shortstop arrived on time with a wide, lower base and active hands in front. Funneled to the midline with moving feet to the bag and released from a ¾ slot up to 78 mph across the diamond. Made the play on the run accurately.
Pitching: RHP - Fast rocker step with some start/stop to the delivery. Finds a balanced stack position with some hip coil before driving downward off of the backside at release from a H ¾ slot. The FB landed at 78-79, T80 mph with a lower slot and some ride, mixing a sweeping 62-64 mph SL with natural feel to spin. A 65-67 mph CH was able to maintain FB plane, showing late fade halfway to the plate.
