6/12/18 Defensively, shows commitment to getting behind ball in air and playing through. Would benefit from getting around and playing ball on round off glove side foot.as well as staying in line on and following throws.
Offensively, initiates swing from neutral with short, controlled stride staying neutral. Welsh works against a firm front side achieving good leverage. Swing is short and hands work well to baseball. Separation is adequate. Weight shift and hip turn are passive and there is tendency to reach with stride leg. A 78 mph bt exit velocity was recorded.
On the mound, works exclusively out of stretch from mid 3/4 arm slot. Stays in line and repeats well. Stride is short with passive use of lower half. FB at 62-65 shows subtle run. CB had 11-5 shape and rolling action. CH at at 55-57 mph has subtle fade and is thrown with slight slowing of the arm
