A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

Physical: 5-9, 160 pounds; Sturdy, full build. DNR runner in the 60. Offensively: LHH. Open setup, with feet narrow; flat bat to start. Loads straight back with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a late one hand finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 86 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; walks into ready position while showing choppy feet. Hands are off to the side with a clean transfer. Short take back from a standard 3/4 arm slot. OF - 74 MPH. Showed fluid actions to the ball with a quick arm.
7/19/22
Physical: Lean, athletic 5-foot-9, 160lb frame with room to fill. 7.59 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Loose, upright stance as the feet started slightly open to begin. Utilized a controlled leg-lift stride to initiate the swing through a flat, on-plane path into the hitting zone. Maintained taller posture into a stiff front-side while recording a line-drive approach towards the middle of the field. Consistently on the barrel for an 82% sweet-spot and T80 mph exit velocity.
Defensively: The primary outfielder displayed quality reads off the bat with a soft glove hand fielding from his right side. Quick release from a short H ¾ slot and reached back for 78 mph positionally.
Pitching: LHP. Southpaw works off the middle-right part of the rubber; average tempo with plenty of balance in the delivery, using a direct arm-stroke. Held 76-79 mph (2239) for strikes to both sides and added a sweeping 68-70 mph CB across the plate. Killed spin on a low-70’s straight-CH.
7/28/21
Physical: Athletic, projectable 5-foot-9, 145lb frame (high waisted build). 7.70 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Upright, shoulder-width stance to start as the hands operated with flat rhythm, working to a barrel tip at a 45. Utilized a short leg-lift stride with some weight-shift into impact, producing a flat, on-time path into the zone at the front of the plate. Recorded a balanced approach during BP, hitting the ball where it was pitched with some top hand feel. Stayed short on the inner half and carried high-contact swings to game action with tangible success. Posted a T76 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak (via Trackman) at a 25% line drive, 50% fly ball rate split.
Defensively: The outfielder infielder confidence in space, creating range in either direction with natural footwork. Arrived with a solid base and chest out over the toes, fielding off his right foot with a clean funnel inward to the chest. H ¾ slot and accurate 74 mph arm across the diamond.
Pitching: LHP - Began off the far right side of the rubber with tons of poise and a bulldog mentality. Stayed fluid and in-rhythm, showing some hip-coil and repeatability on the move to the plate. Released at a loose H ¾ slot with arm-side run on a 77-79 mph FB (command) and mixed a sweeping 66-68 mph CB with strikeout potential down the road. Strike thrower that possesses a high-ceiling down the road (+average feel).
