1/6/18 Defensively, demonstrates advanced hands and foot work for age. Ball is routinely fielded bottom up and out front. Butler shows understanding of playing through baseball and following throws. Throwing motion is long. Overall skill set is advanced for age.
Offensively, initiates wing from slightly ope set up with stride to neutral. There is marked top half dive and lowering of hands in load. Separation is limited. Hands are very quick for age. An advanced bat exit velocity at 13 y/o of 84 mph was recorded. Benefit would be gained from working back elbow up and back in load to gain separation as well as maintaining posture throughout swing.
On thwe mound Butler worked out o fhigh 3/4 arm slot with FB sitting 69-71 mph while being consistently cut to the glove side. Butler achieves good separation and scap. load and is able to consistently repeat his delivery. CB at 56-58 was inconsistent and there was tendency to get around CH at 58-59.
