Physical: 6-4, 210 pounds; Broad shouldered, Long build. 7.15 runner in the 60. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Drops hands on the way back with a toe-tap for timing. Slides weight forward pre-contact. while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a flat swing path with a two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92 MPH via Trackman. Defensively: Starts with an upright /tall setup; utilizing a traditional primary position while staying in an elevated position. Hands are off to the side while funneling to the hip before transfer. Short take back from a low 3/4 arm slot. 2.29-2.40 pop times. C - 64 MPH. Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with shoulders outside the hips. Has a short stride while landing slightly open. Long arm swing while showing some scap load; standard 3/4 slot. Spins off 1B side with finish. FB: Peak velo of 80 MPH, while sitting 77-80 MPH; arm side run. SL: 64-67 MPH; tilting break.
2/06/21
Physical: Athletic 6-foot-3, 182-pound frame with some strength present too. 7.58 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even setup with the hands starting loose and idle on the shoulder. Utilized a leg hang stride while staying behind the ball in order to initiate the bat head through a flat path in the hitting zone yielding a 50% line drive rate per Trackman Baseball. Showed mostly pull-side in the approach though he could go back through the box with it as well. Hit into a stiff front side and lifted on pitches above the belt. Feel for the timing mechanism and repeatedly got quality swings off towards the front of the plate. Recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 86 mph.
Defensively: The outfielder displayed active footwork on the approach working down through the toes and towards the target. Good pace and athleticism in the arm swing allowed for accurate throws up to 83 mph from his position flashing occasional carry. Though the footspeed will most likely relegate him to a corner OF spot, the length and athleticism plays in real time.
Pitching: RHP - Started from the middle of the rubber with a side rocker step into a medium leg lift with obvious hip coil at the top of the stack. Utilized some funk with a quick arm through a high ¾ slot on the way through allowing a 75-78 mph FB to run into the zone (12.2 inches of HM) at a 40% rate. Mixed in an interesting 60-61 mph SL that he slightly telegraphed in the glove, which got up to 19.2 inches of HM across the plate. Countered with a developing 71-73 mph CH thrown with above-average sell while accruing arm-side fade.
