A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Physical: Durable, powerful 6-foot-1, 185lb frame. 7.54 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Breakout offensive round, starting from a balanced, even stance with low hanging hands in rhythm. Utilized a raised load, paired with a leg-kick stride to initiate the swing through a slightly uphill path towards a whippy one-handed finish on the backside. Bad intentions and found heavy contact at the front of the plate up to a T94 mph bat-exit velocity at a 347 foot distance. Will likely fill a middle of the order role at the next level, connecting to the ground well in the swing with rotational acceleration.
Defensively: The third baseman bounced around in the prep step with some rangy actions either way. Slightly taller posture when on the move and setup on time, squared up to the ball. Fielded in the middle of his body, funneling accurately inward and released from H ¾ slot up to an 82 mph best (carry at times).
Pitching: RHP - The righty started from the left side; compact delivery that repeats. High leg lift and momentum down the slope, landing a 79-80 mph FB with heavy arm-side run and mixing sweeping 65-67 mph CB for strikes. Added a varying 72-74 mph CH that flashed hard fade on occasion.
7/13/21
Physical: Well proportioned, strong 6-foot, 175lb frame with some feel. 7.43 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Controlled, in-line setup with not a whole lot extra going on in the stance. Utilized a shorter lift and replace stride to connect to the ground, initiating a flat path into the hitting zone with feel for the barrel. Produced a pull-side approach during his round, hitting behind the ball and lifted on pitches above the belt. Notched a T88 mph bat-exit velocity at his peak, working up to a near 320 foot batted ball distance for doubles power (319 feet). Created separation on occasion for good bat-speeds and controlled the inner half well during his round.
Defensively: The third baseman displayed good posture from a lower position, fielding out over the front of his body; able to get the ball in/out of the glove with a quicker exchange and released in rhythm from an accurate H ¾ slot across the diamond. Handled plays to his left with confidence and threw well on the run (75 mph arm).
Pitching: RHP - The righty started off the far left side of the rubber, finding a balanced stack and worked connected into footstrike towards the plate. A H ¾ release repeated well, and landed the FB at 75-77 mph for heavy action into the zone. Mixed a short 61-63 mph SL across the plate at 5 inches of HM (via Trackman).
7/15/20
Physical: Lean / high waisted 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame with projectability in the build. 7.91 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, even stance as the hands started above the shoulder in the setup. Utilized a quick and repeatable lift and replace stride to initiate a flat barrel path into the hitting zone. Showed feel for his hands while peppering the pull-side with hard contact during batting practice, would lift the ball up in the zone creating fly ball and loft to the pull side. Hit into a stiff front side with solid hip shoulder separation in the box / recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 83 mph according to Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The primary third baseman featured adequate footwork arriving to the baseball with a medium center of gravity. Soft glove hand through the fielding window allowed for solid transfers and an accurate high ¾ slot with feel for the throwing arm across the diamond. Made the play on the run with ability to throw from different angles. INF - 70 mph
Pitching: RHP - Short side rocker step with above average pace in the delivery, medium leg lift with direction towards the plate, gets slightly over the front side on the land, arm worked through a high ¾ slot with a moderate arm circle. FB ranged from 73-76 mph with a max of 1976 spin per Trackman Baseball, mixed in a 63-65 mph CB with short 11-5 shape.
