Physical: The recent Millersville University commit flashed two-way abilities in an athletic, twitchy 6-foot-1, 155lb frame. 7.48 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Started from a wide, balanced stance with the hands loose at the shoulder. Utilized a controlled barrel tip on time with a short lift and replace stride in order to deliver the barrel through a flat path into the hitting zone. Mostly line drive approach (44% LD rate per Trackman Baseball) and pounded the middle of the field with an adjustable barrel. Stayed between the legs with the weight yielding above-average bat to ball skills with quick hands on the inner half (23 mph hand speed via Blast). Worked his way up to 90 mph exit velocity per Trackman Baseball with room for more as he continues filling out in the physicality category.
Defensively: The shortstop displayed rangy, choppy footwork on routes to either side, trusted the glove hand working smoothly to his left, accurate actions inward off his left foot with pace to get downhill. Loose/live accurate high ¾ slot across the diamond with left side projection (83 mph).
Pitching: RHP - The primary righty began sideways off the far left side of the rubber; utilized a short heel to toe rocker into a controlled leg lift at waist height (hip coil); worked smoothly down the slope getting to a stiff front side with efficiency in the body movements. The arm showed free and loose operating with no restrictions from a high ¾, whippy slot. Attacked from pitch one, entering the strike zone with three pitches; a FB ranging from 82-84, T85 mph (strikes, carry; 16.2 inches average IVB), mixing a tight 75-77 mph breaker that tunnels (15.1 inches sweep, 7.3 inches depth on average) and a fading 74-77 mph CH (up to 21 inches HM). Big time feel and all pitches thrown with similar arm speed creating deception.
10/05/19
5-foot-11, 135-pound right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Hands work well through contact in spite of some barrel wrap in the load phase. Registered a bat exit velocity of 76 mph and ran a 7.89 60-yard dash. Displayed a confident glove hand and a whippy throwing motion defensively with accurate 72 mph arm strength across the infield. The righty sat 72-76 off the mound from a high 3/4 arm slot with the same whippy arm action. Displayed a feel for spin on a sweeping curveball with 11/5 rotation at 61-63. Also commanded a changeup with solid depth at 66-68.
