Infield Velocity
The athlete's maximum throwing velocity from an infield position in the given event year. Measured in miles per hour (MPH).
80.0
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
Physical: 5-foot-10, 151 pounds; lean, athletic frame. 7.4 runner in the 60.
Offensively: LHH. Upright; medium stride. average effort with uphill swing plane; 20 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. Tumpa is able to produce 9.3 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 74%. Consistent pull side contact; average Trackman exit velocity of 76 MPH; peak exit velo was 85 MPH.
Defensively: Prep hop, gets low with the ball; Fluid mover, gets low early works from the ground up. soft, sure hands, quick transfer; medium arm swing with a low 3/4 arm slot. INF - 79 MPH.
Pitching: Sets up on the first base side, side steps and gets into a deliberate, controllable and repeatable delivery. Short take back with a high 3/4 arm slot. FB: T 79MPH, 77-78 MPH. Slight arm side run. CB: 69-71 MPH. Short breaking, 10-4 shape. CH: 72-73 MPH. Fades.
2/22/20
Showcased a long and lean 5-foot-10, 151-pound frame with easy projectability and current athleticism in his actions. The primary right-handed pitcher used a compact, repeatable delivery to sit 78-79 mph out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot with room for more. Mixed in a 67-70 mph curveball thrown at near fastball arm-speed with late 11/5 depth. Flashed an impressive 73-74 mph changeup commanded near the bottom of the zone with occasional arm-side fade. The left-handed hitter begins with a tall, open stance utilizing a toe-tap stride to initiate his swing. Generated a slightly uphill barrel path with some length and natural loft to the pull side. Hit into a stiff front side yielding an 80 mph bat-exit velocity during batting practice and ran a 7.33 60-yard dash. The shortstop demonstrated a low center of gravity allowing for range to both sides creating advantageous routes to the ball. Hands played soft out in front and worked east/west through the ball. Recorded an accurate 80 mph arm-strength across the diamond out of a high ¾ arm-slot. Actions are good enough to suggest a stay on the left-side of the infield in the future.
