Kim is one of the better catcher’s in the 2026 class and he continued to show why today. He started his day off behind the dish with quick feet/transfer that resulted in a 1.97-2.13 pop time and a 73 mph C velo. In the box, he worked up the middle & to his backside gap with a max EV of 87.7 mph. He also ran one of the top 60’s on the day (6.9 sec), Kim had his tools on display yesterday and will be a strong follow this summer.
9/26/22
Kim, 5-foot-10 165-pounds, turned some heads on Sunday with his size and speed. At the plate the swing was relaxed, worked gap to gap with the hands staying above the baseball. Ran the fastest 30-yard time on the day at 3.91. Showed quick footwork and an arm to match, rounding out an impressive day for the young 2026 prospect.
2/22/22
2026 C/OF Sam Kim had one of the better showings at the Jr. Future Games Trials and was one of the top catchers at the event. Consistent pop-times between 2.22 - 2.25 and one of the better arms at 64mph. Short, quick stroke from the right side and looks to the pullside with a top exit velocity of 85mph. Physically stood out at the event as well with a lean 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame.
