2/18/19 Big right-hander in Brown at 6-foot-2, 225-pounds. Wide shoulders, has the look of being a workhorse on the mound and room to really use his physicality to his benefit. Brown showed feel for all three pitches and threw some really good changeups that would dive down and spun a couple curveballs with proper rotation at 72-74 mph. The arm works, he shows some presence on the mound and there is upside with Brown as he matures and grows as a 2021 righty from the Terriers program.
11/03/17
11.3.17 - Brown is a young and intriguing prospect in the 2020 grad class with size at 6-foot, 190-pounds and room to fill out as he matures. Two-way player who really impressed on the mound. Brown also plays first base and hits from the right side with minimal movement and a quiet swing that at times would get some length. Best swing s where when he had some lift with extension through contact while he was an adequate defender at first with feel for the glove around the bag. On the mound, Brown worked strictly out the stretch, repeated his delivery well with some arm speed from a clean 3/4 slot. Fastball showed some late run at 77 mph while the curveball had sweeping action with 10/4 shape and chance to be a real quality pitch in the future. Changeup was 67-68 with fastball arm action and was able to stay around the zone with all three pitches. Lots of upside and the body should continue to gain strength, one to watch develop over the winter and into the 2018 season.
