Pimentel-Guerrero is the #2 ranked player in the 2022 class and for good reason. At the plate, he has continued to get better; it’s loose and whippy from both sides, it’s a mechanically sound swing with good body control and a clean bat path. He has shown the ability to hit velocity and has continued to add strength and impact the ball with more authority. His actions in the outfield are clean with a strong arm, which has been up to 90. His running ability has progressed as well, and he will benefit greatly from continued strides in that area. He’s a must follow player in his class with plenty of upside.

Pimentel Guerrero was one of the best athletes at the tryout and performed very nicely across the board. He showed a very quick first step fielding grounders with strong glove actions. The ball disappeared into his glove with ease and there was never a question if he was going to get to a ball. There is some arm strength present as he was up to 85 across the diamond with zip and through the bag carry. He is a switch hitter and shows a pretty balanced swing from both sides. There is not a lot of wasted movement and he gets on time pretty effectively. Hands looked a little quicker from the left side but not a big difference between the 2 swings. Some power may emerge with added strength but his game will be gap-to-gap and reeking havoc on the base paths. Pimental Guerrero has made a lot of strides over the last year and continues to get better. He’s athletic and has the tools and will be one to watch this season.

A long-legged infielder with room to fill out and get stronger as he matures, Luis swings it from the both sides of the plate. Athletic actions in the box with quick hands and good balance, quiet load with not a lot of moving parts and the bat speed and the tools are there to build on. Shows slightly more quickness and balance from the left side of the plate than the right, but maintains line-drive approach throughout. Athletic and quick actions in the infield, with proper footwork and clean arm action. A young and interesting 2021 classman, as Luis gets stronger, his game will climb to the next level.
