2024 3B Logan MacDonald may have been the biggest winner at the Oshawa Scout Day. He immediately stood out on the infield with his actions and movements from side-to-side. Arm worked up to 77mph with accurate throws. At the dish it’s a balanced left-handed swing with feel for the barrel (88% sweet spot) and a consistent line drives throughout his round with a top exit velo of 83.4mph. Good day for MacDonald who has a well-rounded game right now and is no doubt one of the top prospects in the Legionaires organization.
10/24/21
2024 Logan MacDonald was one the the stronger '24s we saw on the day and definitely one of the nicer swings in his class. It's a quiet, wide stance into his load from the left side where he has a medium size leg-kick and swings with intent. Seemed to have one of the more mature approaches at the dish from the underclass group. Reliable and makes routine plays at third base but the upside come from the bat where he continues to develop well.
8/16/20
Young 2024 with a good idea in the box from the left side. Gets bat started and hands going, gets into his swing and has some twitch and quickness for his age. The setup is quiet and balanced and Macdonald seems to be in control throughout the swing. Like the baseball sense we get from him as he showed patience and timing at third base. Remember this one down the road as will check back in on his development.
