Joel Connors is an interesting 2019 uncommitted senior catch and throw guy to watch for behind the plate. Connors works 1.92-2.04 out of the crouch, he gets up early and gains plenty of ground with his lower half. The arm works 74 mph from home to second with more in the tank. The bat is under-developed but shows signs of what it could become. When he gets his hands extended, there’s natural loft with some pop in the swing. The skills behind the plate will carry him, but there’s definitely room to become a contributor on the offensive side of the game as well. One of the better arms in his class from behind the dish, Connors is a 2019 LHH catcher that coaches need to know about.
