Bruce, a 6-foot-2, 165-pound infielder for the Central Ontario Reds is a 2020 grad who made some noise Sunday. In the infield, Bruce’s hands worked comfortably with clean, quick transfers to his throwing hand. He was up to 79 mph across the diamond on routine grounders, and he also showed the ability to range in and throw across his body from a lower arm slot when needed. At the plate, Bruce uses a short leg kick as a load, before coming forward, with balance, recording exit velocities up to 81 mph. It’s a flat plane with bat lag and drive through the zone, he keeps his front side in and uses the middle part of the field. Bruce will be an interesting watch going forward as he heads into his junior season and continues to develop.
