Big 6-foot-6, 200-pound right-hander who has made big strides on the mound. Almond was up to 87 mph and sits comfortably in the 83-85 range. The delivery has more rhythm as hands work over his head and does a good job staying online and using lower half. Arm works from 3/4 slot and clean arm swing in the back. Ability to work downhill and create good angle on his heater, will get the occasional run on FB. Curveball has 11/5 shape and threw a couple really good ones with depth and spin at 68-70. There is feel for changeup with it shaping into a pitch Almond can trust in his arsenal. Love the size and gains he's made over the last 8 months. A 2021 that should be a high follow for coaches this summer.

Young 2020 grad with size and strength at 6-foot-3, 175-pounds. Worked out as both pitcher and catcher with upside and projectability. On the mound, Almond worked downhill and showed good actions and feel to his delivery. Fastball topped out at 78 with more to come. Was able to spin his curveball and the changeup had some arm side run at times. At the plate, hits with leg kick to launch, some looseness in the hands and can polish his timing in the box. Raw behind the dish and room to work on transfer and footwork. OVerall lots of upside with Almond as the frame and actions on the mound make him one to watch moving forward.
