2024 C Gianluca Montanaro put together one of the best years among 2024 catchers in the country and the right-handed bat continues to show well each time out. Strong, physical frame at 6-foot-3, 218-pounds and made his first appearance with the Canadian Junior National Team this past October in the Dominican Republic. Puts together mature rounds of BP with the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields, as well as lift to the pullside for some power. Looks to be primed for another strong summer season before heading off to Louisiana to begin his collegiate career.

2024 C Gianluca Montanaro had a game to be proud of, winning the CPBL All-Star Game MVP. Montanaro is a physical force at the dish, standing at 6-foot-3/210-pounds and runs well for his size. The Bossier Parish commit possesses a well-balanced swing that effortlessly drives the ball to all parts of the field, he is an athletic right-handed hitter with tons of juice in his bat. Montanaro had multiple hard hits in the game, highlighted by a triple that was barreled over the centerfielder’s head. Montanaro is a well-rounded ball player and will continue to develop more HR power as he refines his game.

2024 C/1B Gianluca Montanaro put together one of the best overall days at the New Year Open. Big, strong frame at 6-foot-2, 200-pounds and the strength plays at the dish and behind it. Controlled bat speed from the right-side and was consistently lifting the ball to the pullside. Best avg exit velocity at the event, 93.6mph (98.1max), and top distance of 351ft. Was the top defensive catcher at the event with pop-times between 1.97-2.03 and velocity of 79mph. Impressive start to the year for the Toronto Mets catcher.
