You could argue that McLean had the best overall day at Scout Day, even though he didn’t have the loudest numbers. While his hands worked in the infield and the arm played in the outfield, it was the bat that stood out most for the uncommitted 2022. Swinging from the left side he shows balance and barrel feel to the pull side with an 87 mph exit velo. Give him some time and McLean could be a decent college hitter if he stays on track.
9/29/19
5-foot-11, 180-pounds, outfielder, right-handed pitcher. 8.60 60 yard dash. 70 exit-velocity. Big frame, works with arm strength up to 76 mph in the outfield. Works downhill on the mound, ¾ slot, smooth on-line landing. Sat 73-74, mixed in a curveball with some depth. He has some upside on the mound due to a clean delivery and good size.
