Currently, the 67th ranked player in the 2021 class, Tomkinson, is a big-bodied 6-foot-1, 185-pound corner infielder. It’s an aggressive swing from the left-side, extension through the hitting zone with the potential to impact the baseball with authority in the game. There’s pull-side power, and with an 83 mph exit velocity and ideal bat path, he will maximize his ability to drive the ball. Can handle the left-side with 74 mph arm strength across. Interesting follow who will be a solid watch as he continues to progress.
Tomkinson, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound 2021 grad showed a fluid swing from the left side of the plate and an easy exit velo of 82 mph. Gets the bat started with small load back with hands, bat stays through the zone and works to stay in big part of the field. Can see more power in the future as he continues to add strength. Best swings were when he was extended and finished swing with slight uphill path, getting the ball in the air. Defensively he profiles more of a 3B, can improve range and first step quickness, made all the plays and was accurate across the diamond.
