Campbell, a 2021 right-hander has added some size to his 6-foot-1 frame, and threw one of the better bullpens we've seen from him this year. The delivery cleaned up a bit, more controlled and on-line, allowed him to work downhill and command his fastball that worked at 82-83. The arm has whip from 3/4 slot and Campbell does show feel for his off-speed stuff. The frame will get stronger and add more strength. A follow this summer as Campbell looks ready to go in 2019.
8/16/18
8.16.18 2021 grad that shows actions even though the velo wasn’t up as high as it was earlier in the season. 6-foot-1, 155-pound frame that projects as it’s lean and loose with room to get stronger. Timing seemed off and wasn’t able to repeat release point and lost feel for stuff. Still like the upside and actions, young 2021 that has flashed velo and overhand curveball earlier in the year, continue to stay on Campbell as it’s still lots of upside and one of the better arms in the class.
2/09/18
2.19.18 One of the more impressive young prospects in the 2021 class, Campbell already shows a live and loose arm with clean actions on the bump with room to fill out, get taller, and stronger. Campbell has good length, is long-legged and has long arms. Ball comes out of the hand cleanly from an easy delivery. Fastball has some late sinking life arm side and tops out at 83 mph, but sits between 78-81. The secondary stuff still needs work, but Campbell shows a good feel for his offspeed pitches. Curveball showed gradual break, Campbell has to focus and consistently getting on top of the baseball. Overall, the right-hander is projectable with a loose arm and as his secondary stuff continues to improve while he focuses on getting bigger and stronger, he will become a big name in the 2021 class.
11/03/17
11.3.17 Campbell is young with size for his age at 6-foot-1, 151-pounds as a 2020 grad. Slow tempo to delivery, arm is clean with some quickness outfront, fastball topped out 78 and with more rhythm and use of his frame, can easily see the velocity increase. Campbell spun a slow curveball with gradual break and 11/5 shape but did show spin and feel for the pitch. A young 2020 to keep an eye on, some minor adjustments and Campbell could be poised for a strong 2018 season.
