Jacklin, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound outfielder for the Great Lake Canadians, recently committed to Davenport University in Michigan. He’s a left-handed hitter with whip and athleticism in the batter’s box. He works line-to-line with a level stroke through the hitting zone. He displays plate discipline and bat-to-ball abilities and has the potential to be a top of the order hitter at the next level. He will drive the ball at times due to his bat speed, but will be a hit over power guy with the makings of being a solid overall offensive producer in college. He has spent time both in the infield and outfield, and is better suited to play in the outfield where his 6.89 60-yard time transfers, and he works up to 83 mph as well. Jacklin has a well-rounded toolset and can impact the game in many facets. He is currently the 17th ranked player in the 2020 class.
2/18/19 Jacklin could be all over the list of our top performers from the New Year Open, but he’s in multiple categories. The left-handed hitter was impressive in many facets of the day, and during BP showed a quick, compact stroke. Hands worked well to contact with bat speed through the zone, line drives worked back up the middle with extension and finish to his swing and drove balls that would carry to the back of the cage. There is some present strength and really liked the way ball came off his bat.
