2.9.18 - Committed to Elmira College
10.22.17 - Adams worked out as two-way player as he was impactful for his teams this summer on the mound and in the outfield. Well proportioned frame at 6-foot-2, 180-pounds with current strength. Ran his best time we've seen in the 60 at 6.98. On the mound, Adams lacks the velocity at the moment as we works in the 80 mph range but the arm is clean and should be able to increase velocity rather quickly. Shows the pitchability and feel you look for in a senior and has the ability to throw his off-speed for quality strikes and attack the zone. Changeup shows fading action while he spins the curveball well with 11/5 shape and near 12/6 at times. At the plate, Adams has a simple approach with minimal movement. Timing can get off and swing gets long at times but shows the aggressiveness you look for in a hitter and a few small corrections can possibly see a big change for him. In the outfield, above average arm strength and approaches the ball cleanly with sound fundamentals and accuracy to his throws. Uncommitted senior with game to go along with a few tools. Chance for a big jump by Adams this winter and will no doubt be able to help out and play a role the right college program.
6/29/16
6-foot-1, 178-pound right-hander who can become something special on the mound. A 2018 grad with an advanced feel for pitching, clean mechanics, strong use of the lower half. Adams delivers all three of his pitches from a 3/4 arm slot, FB was up to 79 mph, CB sits in the 64-65 mph range with some depth, located the CH well. Adams is young, but projects to be one of the better arms in the Ontario 2018 class.
3/5/2016
6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed pitcher who could be one to keep an eye out for. Adams is a 2018 grad with an already tremendous feel for pitching. Mechanics are clean, drives with the lower half, releases from a ¾ arm slot, fastball was up to 76. Good tempo, drops the arm for his slider, pounds the zone, good feel for three pitches. Adams is very young, but he projects very well. The velocity isn’t present yet, but he’s one of the better prospects in the 2018 class.
6-foot, 185-pound athletic two-way player with live actions and room to fill out and gain strength. On the mound, Adams showed a smooth delivery that he repeated well. Landed flat and online, arm path was clean and into a ¾ arm slot. Lower half worked and was able to get backside through. Arm had some quickness to it, fastball was 68-71 mph. Changeup had good action down in the zone while maintaining arm speed at 65 mph. Curveball showed proper rotation with downward action at 59 mph. The 2018 grad has a good foundation on the mound with some arm speed. Will keep an eye and watch his progress. Offensively, ran a 5.00 from home to first and 5.34 in the 40-yard dash. At the plate, hits from athletic stance with slight knee bend and feet evenly apart. Hands are up in good position to hit, small stride, hands drop and swing gets long and loopy. Quicker and shorter to the ball will be key for Adams. Seeing type of athlete he is we think this is easily fixable, especially at young age. Exit velocity was 72 mph. Defensively, average hands with some athleticism in the lower half. Arm worked from a ¾ arm slot. Was 67 mph across the infield and online. Young 2018 to follow.
