2/18/19 Camilo, a 5-foot-9, 155-pound outfielder was at our first event of the season and showed well in front of lots of Ontario schools. Camilo is a scrappy outfielder with a short line-drive swing. Camilo lacks some current strength, but because of his feel for his barrel, he is able to make up for the lack of hits off weaker parts of the bat. He showed the ability to get out front, but also wait back and drive pitches on the outer half to the opposite field. He has an idea and understanding of the type of player he is and what he is capable of doing. The actions in the outfield could be done with more intent, but Camilo will field and catch the routine balls with ease.
11.3.17 - A young 2020 with short, quick strides as he ran a 7.60 in the sixty which should become quicker as he gains strength. Showed hand speed from the left side of the plate with an uphill path to contact, stays balanced through swing while he had feel and extension, hands are ready to hit and gets himself into a good position before contact. Strong round of BP on the day. Defensively, will need to work on arm strength and arm action. Has a live lower half with bounce but a weak front side stops him from improving his numbers across the diamond. Really like the way the bat plays and he looks to get quicker as he gets older, Camilo can fine tune the defensive side and look to become a complete player as he continues to develop.
