2.19.18 A long and lanky outfielder with room to fill out as he matures. Shows good feel for hitting at the plate, with a short and compact stroke from the right side. Quiet load on the back foot with a slight leg kick, Akhalwaya drives bat through the zone with an uphill swing to generate lift on the ball. Hands work, swings off a straight front foot, clean follow-through. In the outfield, shows of a loose arm with clean arm action, ball comes out of the hand with some life at 83 mph off the cro-hop. As Adam continues to fill out and grow into his frame, it will be interesting to watch the 2020 classman develop over the next couple of years.
10.22.17 The 2020 grad Akhalwaya is 5-foot-11, 150-pounds with a lean frame that should add more strength as he gets older. Ran a 7.60 in the sixty with regular effort. At the plate, quiet, slightly open stance, small load in hands and looked to stay up the middle during his round of BP. Swing stays on line and gets through the zone, added strength will play a role in pop, can generate more from usage of lower half. Threw the ball well from the outfield with carry and a clean arm. Would like to see on mound as the ball came out with some life and was pretty easy. Has some tools to work with and room to fill out and continue to develop.
