Kaden Slater: 3B/RHP, (2022) Alva, OK. 6-foot, 180-pound solid frame. In the box, Slater had a max exit velocity of 86 mph. Began in a balanced tall stance with a quick load, then used a small leg kick to initiate his swing. Bat speed was some, displayed flat swing plane and level finish. Found some barrels with some loud contact. Pull side approach. Above average while in the infield, made throws up to 79 mph; has a tapping developing exchange, developing feet and firm hands. Used a high ¾ slot and a short arm action. Clocked a time of 7.94 in the 60-yard dash. Solid on the mound, where he showed some arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle and a long arm action. Slow-tempo type pitcher who shows some effort. Lands square with an upright finish. Threw his fastball 77-78 mph with a max of 81 mph; around the zone. His changeup shows fading action.
6/11/19
A 6-foot, 180-pound durable frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from a slightly up tempo delivery with high leg kick before gliding down the mound and finishing balanced. Arm action is long in the back with a quick change of direction in the back before coming through a high-¾ slot. Fastball sits 74-78 mph showing occasional arm-side run, some strikes. Curveball has slurvy shape with occasional depth at 61-68 mph. Changeup shows some fade at 69-70 mph.
6/11/19
Showcased feel for a large 6-foot, 180-pound frame with advanced strength for his age. The left-handed hitter begins with an even setup with weight slightly shaded towards the backside. A quick lift-and-replace stride was used to initiate a slightly uphill barrel with whip through the zone. Present stretch coupled with some sink into a strong lower half allowed for consistent backspin to the pull-side and a barrel that increased speed registering an 82 mph bat-exit velocity. Recorded an 8.08 60-yard dash. The primary third baseman displayed average footwork during defensive evaluations while arriving to the baseball consistently on time. Feel for a soft glove hand with smooth transfers allowed for accurate 73 mph throws out of a short, high ¾ arm-slot.
