A durable 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame. On the mound, works from an average tempo deliver with a high leg kick and big coil load at the top before striding closed. Arm action is short in the back before coming through a side-arm slot with some quickness. Fastball shows heavy run and sink to both sides of the dish, commanded best to the arm-side, 76-78 mph. Slider sits 67-69 with east-west action and some depth, mostly strikes. Changeup has heavy fade, misses to the arm side at times, 69-71 mph. Overall, Rein will have the stuff to play an important role on a staff at the next level with his ability to sink the fastball and spin the slider, especially as he continues to develop command of his movement.
A proportional 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame. On the mound, the right-hander works from an average tempo delivery with a high leg kick and short stride. Arm action is very short coming through a side arm slot with deception as he hides the ball behind his head. Fastball sits 78-79 with consistent arm side run at the bottom of the zone. Changeup is his best off-speed offering with consistent late fade at 73-74 for strikes. Slider is short with east-to-west shape at 70-71 mph. In the game, kept hitter uncomfortable in the box and struck out three of the four he faced.
