A 5-foot-11, 175-pound build with a strong lower half. Simple delivery with moderate tempo. Arm drops straight down out of break, short arm circle, over the top slot. Fastball flashed some sink, 80-83 mph. Curveball showed good 12/6 shape and depth, 66 mph. Despite two errors behind him, Russell kept his composure, not giving up a hit, striking out two and walking two. Offensively, right-handed hitter, gap-to-gap approach, doubles arch, some pop. Balanced athletic stance, rhythm in the load, short stride, late heel plant,  short to the ball, slightly uphill bat path, good round of BP, 82 mph exit velo. Runs a 7.63 60.  Defensively, good feet, flashed a clean backhand, high-3/4 slot, 79 mph to first base. Russell went 0/3 with two walks, an HPB, and two strikeouts.
